Description
Tardajos is a small Spanish village with a rich history dating back to the Roman era. Located in the province of Burgos, it played a significant role during the Middle Ages as a resting point for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. The town's strategic location near the Arlanzón River made it an important crossroads for travelers and traders. The Church of San Pedro, built in the 16th century, is one of Tardajos' most notable landmarks. It features a beautiful Romanesque portal, which is a testament to the village's medieval past. Additionally, the remains of a Roman road and bridge can be found nearby, further highlighting the area's historical importance. Today, Tardajos continues to welcome pilgrims, offering accommodations and services to those walking the Camino de Frances.
