Description

Los Arcos is a picturesque town with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Its strategic location made it an important stop for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. The town's name, which translates to "The Arches," is derived from the impressive stone bridge that spans the Rio Odrón. This bridge was built in the 12th century and has been restored several times since then. One of the most significant historical landmarks in Los Arcos is the Church of Santa María, a beautiful example of Gothic architecture with Romanesque and Baroque elements. The church was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and features an impressive façade, a stunning altarpiece, and a beautiful cloister. Throughout the centuries, Los Arcos has been a place of rest and spiritual rejuvenation for pilgrims, offering hospitality and services to those on their journey to Santiago de Compostela.
