Description

Lintzoain is a small village located in the Navarre region of Spain. Historically, it has been a resting point for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, providing essential services such as food and shelter. The village is nestled in the Pyrenees foothills, surrounded by lush green landscapes and forests. In the Middle Ages, Lintzoain was an important stop for pilgrims due to its strategic location between Roncesvalles and Zubiri. The village's history is closely tied to the Camino de Santiago, as it was a place where travelers could find refuge and respite before continuing their journey. The Church of San Saturnino, a modest yet charming building, stands as a testament to the village's historical significance. The church is dedicated to Saint Saturnin, a 3rd-century Christian martyr who was the first bishop of Toulouse and is considered one of the patron saints of the Camino de Santiago.
