Historically, these localities have been part of the Camino de Santiago since the Middle Ages. The Galician countryside, where Portos and Lestedo are located, has been a significant part of the pilgrimage experience due to its lush landscapes, rolling hills, and traditional stone houses. The area has been home to farming communities for centuries, and their way of life has been preserved and cherished by locals and pilgrims alike. As pilgrims pass through these localities, they can appreciate the rich agricultural heritage and the strong sense of community that has been maintained throughout the years.
