Description

Boente is a small village located in the province of A Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. Historically, Boente has been a resting point for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago due to its strategic location between the towns of Arzúa and Melide. The village is known for its Church of Santiago, which dates back to the 12th century. This Romanesque church is dedicated to Saint James the Apostle, the patron saint of the pilgrimage. The church features a unique wooden sculpture of Saint James dressed as a pilgrim, which is a popular attraction for those walking the Camino de Frances.
